The Asiago Transient Classification Program (Tomasella et al. 2014, AN, 335, 841) reports the spectroscopic classification of... PSN J20435314+1230304 discovered in NGC6956 by Massimo Caimmi (Italian Supernova Search Program ISSP). Informations on these transients are available from the "Bright Supernova" website (http://www.rochesterastronomy.org/snimages/) and and the CBAT "Transient Objects Confirmation Page" (http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/unconf/tocp.html). The observations were performed with the Asiago 1.82 m Copernico Telescope (+AFOSC; range 340-820 nm; resolution 1.4 nm).

(3) Best match with several Type Ia SNe few days before maximum B-band light. The expansion velocity of the ejected material, as inferred from the position of the absorption of the SiII 6355 \AA, is about 13000 km/s.

Allora, visto che il buon Max - padre Evans - Caimmi é oramai lanciatissimo nella scoperta delle SN, propongo di organizzare una raccolta fondi per l'acquisto alla sua 3^ scoperta di un 40cm come quello usato dal famoso prelato o almeno di un C14 per non essere da meno, chi aderisce? L'ho appena sentito per telefono e lui è ovviamente d'accordo...

Il mio DS16 telescopio Meade che usava padre Evans lo pagai nel 1993 3.000.000. Ma era molto scomodo da usare percio' l'ho trasformato in un Dobson.....Comunque la ricerca visuale penso sia tutta un'altra cosa:-)

L'ISSP (Italian Supernovae Search Project) con questa scoperta è ad oggi il primo gruppo di ricerca amatoriale del 2015, con 8 scoperte di SN, seguito a ruota da Parker e Itagaki con 7 e Puckett 6.
Al di la di classifiche ed autocelebrazioni, credo che questo possa essere un risultato stimolante per alcuni di noi... e allora?

Molti sono reduci da lunghe notti insonni a FV, ma se dovesse interessare, vi avverto che la SN sta ragiiungendo il massimo proprio in queste notti!
Ieri era già di 16a, ma probabilmente salirà ancora un po' nelle prossime...
